A LITTLE PLANT WISDOM
A little plant wisdom.
You don’t need a perfect routine to grow something good. Start with the right spot, get to know your plant, and take it one leaf at a time.
Start with the light.
Match your plant to the space you have. Many houseplants enjoy bright, indirect light — a bright room without strong sun falling directly on the leaves. Check each plant’s care notes before choosing its home.
Feel first. Water second.
Watering needs change with the season, the room and the pot. Check the compost rather than watering by the calendar. Let extra water drain away, and don’t leave the nursery pot sitting in a puddle.
A little room to grow.
Let a new plant settle before repotting. When it becomes root-bound, choose a pot just a little larger with drainage holes. Gently dust broad leaves so they can make the most of the light.
Plants and paws.
Our pet-friendly collection includes spider plants, listed as non-toxic to cats and dogs by the ASPCA. Even non-toxic plants are best kept out of chewing reach. Other plants in this collection should be kept away from pets.
